We currently have an opening for a Shipping Clerk in our Clarksburg, MD office.  This position reports to the Manager of Production Control/Shipping and Receiving.   

Responsibilities

  • Preparing material for shipment to include: palletizing material for shipment via LTL carrier; packing for small shipments to travel safely to its final destination; preparing paperwork for battery shipments via FedEx software (ShipEasy).
  • Follow TDSI workflow.
  • Coordinate LTL shipments using the best freight forwarder as well as all ground deliveries (FED EX, UPS, and USPS).
  • Pack lithium ion batteries per IATA packaging guidelines and complete necessary paperwork for shipment.

  • U.S. Citizenship required. - Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications – Fluent in English.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing/shipping environment. 
  • Familiar with all Mil-spec packaging requirements, especially MIL-STD 129 and MIL-STD 130.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift Certification.
  • Working computer skills knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel & shipping systems software.
  • Good work habits - detail oriented, time management, attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to stand, climb, load, bend etc. to perform the responsibilities of position safely. 
  • Ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods of time.  Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Knowledge and comprehension of the packaging guidelines for the shipment of Lithium Ion batteries a plus.
  • Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.

The hourly pay range for this role is $21.00-$24.15 USD along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 3%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above.  TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
