Thales Defense & Security, Inc. has an opening for a Senior Engineering Technician. This position is located in the Clarksburg office and reports to the Product Support Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hands-on and team-oriented environment. 
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineers in our Engineering Labs on new or existing development programs of portable software defined radio products.
  • Perform technician functions to include basic debug, assembly and test of circuit boards, cables, radios, batteries and radio accessories. 
  • Perform engineering lab support functions to include parts ordering, material stocking, equipment calibration, equipment assignment, and general lab maintenance.

  • U.S. Citizenship required. - Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Fluent in English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; ASEE or equivalent experience a plus.
  • 7-12 years of experience as an Engineering Technician.
  • Knowledge of RF, Analog and Digital Design fundamentals is desirable.
  • Able to read and understand circuit card documentation, including schematics, drawings, and bill of materials.
  • Experience in removing and soldering surface mount components.

    Experience with prototyping a plus.

  • Working knowledge of engineering lab test equipment and test methods for the development of electronic products and radios.
  • Able to run computer controlled test programs using LabView, automated scripts, and Keysight VEE (HP VEE).
  • Able to perform verification and validation testing in accordance with test plans; able to generate and update test plans and reports.
