AAC is looking for a results-oriented recruiter and professional to join our Human Resources team. This position may be performed remotely with some travel required for job fairs, career events and meetings.


Job Location: Full-Time Remote (ideally in VA/MD/DC area)


 Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute innovative recruiting strategies to attract top talent for the Company
  • Search, source, and screen potential candidates utilizing multiple online resources and networks
  • Pre-screens, interviews, and manages full cycle recruiting process
  • Develop and build relationships with hiring managers in order to better understand their business and the roles with the organization
  • Work directly with hiring managers to ensure understanding of job specifications and desired qualifications for each position
  • Advise hiring managers throughout the hiring process on matters such as interviewing techniques, selection protocols, offer management, etc.
  • Partner with HR team to ensure organization’s talent goals are met including internal, external, diversity and early career hiring
  • Maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System and may produce reports on all phases of the recruitment process
  • Participate in job fairs and college recruiting to source potential candidates and promote industry awareness
  • Lead recruitment and selection processes that are legally compliant and cost effective while meeting established metrics such as cost per hire, time to fill, etc.
  • Manage candidate experience, creating a positive impression of the recruitment process including providing status updates, scheduling interviews, making travel arrangements, etc.
  • Conduct reference and background checks and may initiate job offers
  • May schedule and/or conduct new employee onboarding
  • Establish and maintain relationships with contingent and retained search firms, temporary and contract employment agencies. May negotiate employment fee structures
  • Proactively focus on hard-to-fill and/or executive positions
  • Train hiring managers in effective and legally compliant hiring techniques
  • May lead recruiting-related projects
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization



  • U.S. Citizenship required. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or other related field with 5+ years of experience in human resources and 2+ years direct recruitment experience required
  • DoD industry experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively source candidates
  • Thrives in a fast paced, high volume recruiting environment
  • Knowledge of behavioral interviewing techniques
  • Knowledge of state, federal and EEO regulations regarding hiring practices is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems for tracking and reporting (SuccessFactors preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • This position may be located anywhere the US with preference to the northern Virginia area
