We are seeking a dedicated junior Systems Engineer reporting directly to the Project Engineer. You will provide programmatic and technical rigor in support of Systems Engineering (SE) processes, including planning, execution, and closure of System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), technical writing, requirements management, risk management, configuration management, and technical artifact reviews.

Responsibilities

Primary and Essential Accountabilities

  • Ensure system performance and acceptance, that overall system performance targets are met and manages requirement compliance
  • Advise (Project) Engineering and Project Management on contractual issues, risk and opportunities and preparation of variation orders
  • Participate in software development activities and facilitate the coordination of on-site and off-site development teams in coordination with technical managers
  • Assist validation, deployment, and operation activities in coordination with production managers
  • Respond to customer requirements for technical support, through phone support, e-mail and on-site support if required
  • Escalating customer issues for further troubleshooting
  • International business travel is expected
  • Support the project team in defining, engineering, testing, and documenting the system architecture and design

 

Secondary Accountabilities

  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
  • Lead less-experienced engineers

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related technical degree
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • The ability to attain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Desired:
  • Knowledge of Naval shipboard systems such as Sonar, Combat and Radar
  • Knowledge of Naval Shipboard installation
  • Knowledge of Navel Shipboard testing
  • Experience with MagicDraw/Cameo, Model-Based Systems Engineering, or UML/SysML

 

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting (up to 20 lbs.): up to 25% of time
  • Walking: up to 25% of time
  • Climbing, Bending, Standing, Stooping: up to 10% of time
  • Sitting: up to 75% of time
  • Travel: up to 10% of time

 

AAC works on a 9/80 compressed work schedule whereby employees work 80 hours in 2 weeks with every other Friday off.
