    Our Clarksburg Maryland office seeks a Component Specialist.  This position reports to the Product Support & Test Manager.  We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, passionate about their work, and versatile enough to solve a wide variety of engineering problems.

    Responsibilities

    • The qualified applicant will specify and select electronic and electromechanical components based on requirements submitted by Product Development Engineers.
    • Work with purchasing, development and manufacturing engineering to specify component manufacturing and procurement sources.
    • Investigate potential component cost reductions, second sources, and substitute components.
    • Enter new components into database and initiate internal approval workflows. Research and compile technical datasheets as necessary. 
    • Propose solutions to production and product performance problems and discuss changes with the Development Engineer(s).
    • Utilize and search various data resource, aftermarket manufacturers, brokerages, online and internal databases, to mitigate and find solutions to obsolete components and material shortages issues.
    • Review, analyze, and report risks of suspected counterfeit components.
    • Research, develop, design or select components for product improvements.
    • Address component issues to affect RoHS and REACH compliance requirements.
    • Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures.

    Qualifications

    • US Citizenship or US Residency required.
    • Associates degree is required; BSEE preferred.
    • A basic knowledge of Electronic design (Analog / RF / Digital Hardware) is required.
    • Technical experience with an understanding of electrical engineering principles in both analog and digital domains including electronics design experience in high-speed mixed signal circuit design is preferred.
    • Knowledge of properties and process used in electronics fabrication and PCB assembly (manufacturing process and controls, test and detection) is a plus.
    • Knowledge of semiconductor components and modules design, fabrication, characterization, qualification, testing, quality, reliability, is also preferred.
    • Possess strong interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills - oral, written and presentation.
    • 1+ years’ experience in Electronic design (Analog / RF / Digital Hardware)
