    Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is currently seeking a Test Engineer to work in our Clarksburg, Maryland Campus. This position reports to Manager of Test Engineering.

    • Design and develop board and system level automated test fixtures, software programs and procedures for tactical communication system and subassemblies.
    • Write factory acceptance test procedures. Provide testability requirements for board and system level hardware designs.
    • Provide interface between engineering and manufacturing departments during the effort of transitioning new products from the design phase to the production phase.
    • Support production test activities which includes: test fixture maintenance; outfitting production with the equipment and fixtures to support production volume increases; changes to test process/software to increase production yield; diagnostic support.
    • The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment involving frequent interaction with Engineering, Product & Program Managers.
    • Manage high-priority tasks of multiple projects simultaneously in development.
    • Develop manufacturing test processes from concept to Production, including board level test through Quality Assurance verification.
    • Develop automated engineering design verification tools
    • Redesign the common user interface to more efficiently develop and deploy automated production test solutions.
    • Improve test processes, test capacity, and minimize the required operator resources.
    • Lead the transfer of technology for multiple programs to the Clarksburg manufacturing facility.
    • Continuous improvements based on test statistical analysis.
    • Generate semi-automated utilities for failure debugging.
    • Design and develop manufacturing test hardware and software for board level and unit level tests.
    • Improve test software to impact production test yield, reduce test time, increase capacity, and eliminate false failures.
    • Create and maintained accurate test documentation.
    • Fluent in English
    • Ability to follow and comply with all Company policies, procedures and guidelines including the Compliance Policy Manual and the Code of Ethics.



    • U.S. Citizen
    • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance
    • Ability to design test fixtures (mechanical and electrical) which interface the test equipment to the unit under test. Ability to develop automated test programs using Agilent VEE or LabView.
    • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent/related technical degree desired.
    • Excellent English communication skills – written and oral.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
    • Ability move/lift/configure equipment of 30-40 pounds with or without assistance.


    • BSEE or equivalent/related technical degree desired.
    • Familiar with testing basic parameters of VHF and UHF radios, including testing of AM/FM receivers and transmitters against definitive specifications.
