    Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Business Development or Sales Professional to help expand our line of Motion Tracking Systems and line of inertial components working out of our Billerica, MA location.  This position reports to the Director of Business Development.

    Responsibilities

    • Proactively interface with customers and partners to identify, qualify and capture new business opportunities within assigned domain resulting in bookings and sales.
    • Drive marketing & business development strategies within assigned domain generating capture plans for strategically or financially significant opportunities.
    • Contribute as assigned in the preparation of internal pursuit reviews and external proposals to include competitive assessments, customer hot buttons and win themes, price-to-win strategies, etc.
    • Work with cross-functional teams across all areas of the company, including: operations and programs teams to convert orders to sales, engineering project teams to define product release requirements, and senior leadership to define go-to-market strategies and overall messaging for the product line.
    • Work to align company technology and products with customer requirements. Makes IR&D recommendations to better position the company.
    • Assist with the development of the marketing communications strategy.
    • Lead/support coordination and execution of Tradeshows and customer visits.
    • Effect market penetration and growth with minimal supervision.
    • Contribute to the evaluation and resolution of strategic issues within the division/business unit in conjunction with peers by performing analysis of financial, operational and organization issues and working collaboratively to develop, assess and implement solutions.
    • Identify and implement key partnerships, alliances and improve business relationships
    • Acquire and disseminate market intelligence and competitor knowledge as relevant to assigned domain.
    • By example, set the standards that embody the TDSI Core Value & Thales Leadership Model.
    • Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures.

    Qualifications

    • US Citizenship or US Residency Required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related degree required.
    • 5+  years of Product Marketing, Business Development / Sales experience in a high-technology sector
    • 3+ years of commercial motion tracking industry
    • A plus is experience with the U.S. Department of Defense (PEO-STRI is a plus)
    • Demonstrated ability to be successful in achieving business growth objectives with minimum management oversight
    • Qualified candidates must have excellent written and verbal communications skills with experience managing small teams, setting business growth objectives and achieving results 
    • English fluency - effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and presentation skills required
    • Proven ability to form relationships and exert influence at all company, partner and customer organization levels is required.
    • Excellent organizational skills and work ethic.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with employees in all departments and functions.
    • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and sales tracking systems.
    • Local and Domestic Travel up to 80%.
