    We currently have an opening for an Assistant Custodian/Facilities Coordinator at our Clarksburg, MD Campus.  This position will report directly to the Manager of Facilities.  The desired candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work logistical tasks with minimal direct supervision.

    Responsibilities

    • Able to both physical and transactional support of a campus build out project.
    • Maintain updated database of move activities.
    • Preform physical facilities support as assigned.
    • Must be able to abide by work and safety instructions – both oral and written. Able to follow instructions on cleaning supplies and chemicals for use and storing.  Able to perform all work safely.  Select appropriate cleaning chemicals and necessary personal protective equipment for various surfaces and cleaning jobs, following OSHA regulations.  Use of chemicals and supplies according to instructions (either manufacturers or TDSI).
    • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager.
    • Empty wastebaskets, trash containers, recycle bins. Empty ash trays/cigarette urns using fire precautions.
    • Recycle cardboard using baler equipment and the shredder for paper.
    • Clean and sanitize restrooms; refill dispensers.
    • Clean, dust, and wipe furniture.
    • Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors, clean doors and walls.
    • Use and maintain vacuums, brooms, mops, squeegees, cleaning rags, etc. Post caution signs (e.g., wet floor signs) to limit traffic when necessary.
    • Wash accessible interior windows. Clean blinds.
    • Attend training and safety meetings as prescribed.
    • Support facilities maintenance personnel as needed, e.g. cleaning and replacing air vents, replacing light bulbs, assist with painting, etc.
    • Utilize service ticketing system as required.
    • Maintain pantry locations; stock coffee/tea and incidentals as required
    • Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis
    • Provide escort duties as required for vendors, contractors, and other non-Thales personnel.
    • Set up meeting spaces and conference rooms as required.

    Qualifications

    • US Citizenship
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
    • Proficient with SharePoint 2010.
    • Excellent English Communications Skills – written/verbal
    • Cognitive and physical skills to perform the above duties in an office, manufacturing floor and warehouse environment
    • Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance
    • Ability to push and pull work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces ● Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
    • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects) ● Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
    • Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces to perform duties.
    • Move up and down a ladder safely
    • Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift
    • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps
    • Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps
    • Work around or near engineering and manufacturing materials and products such as Isopropanol Alcohol, Adhesives, Solder, Fluxes, Epoxies, RTV, plastics, metals, batteries, wires, components, etc.
    •  Preferred Qualifications:
    • 1-2 years working in Property Management Company or in a facilities department within a campus or hotel environment.
    • 2 years in a property management company.
