    Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is currently seeking a Concurrent (Manufacturing) Engineer to work in our Clarksburg, Maryland Campus. This position reports to Director of Concurrent Engineering.


    • Provide interface between engineering and manufacturing departments during the effort of transitioning new products from the design phase to the production phase.
    • Support new product introduction activity for assembly of Circuit Card Assemblies and electro-mechanical assemblies to insure manufacturability and testability on both new designs and product transfers.
    • The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment involving frequent interaction with Engineering, Production & Program Managers.
    • Manage high-priority tasks of multiple projects simultaneously in development.
    • Develop manufacturing assembly processes from concept to full production, including board level assembly through Quality Assurance verification.
    • Generate manufacturing routings and develop labor standards.
    • Create Manufacturing Work Instructions.
    • Review and suggest improves to the layout of circuit card assemblies. Knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT) is desirable. Knowledge of the Valor DFM software tool is desirable.
    • Improve assembly processes, throughput, and minimize the required operator resources.
    • Lead the transfer of technology into the Clarksburg manufacturing facility.
    • Continuous improvements based on statistical analysis and LEAN techniques.
    • Knowledge of MRP and MES systems is desirable.
    • Ability to follow and comply with all Company policies, procedures and guidelines including the Compliance Policy Manual and the Code of Ethics.


    • U.S. Citizen
    • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance
    • BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent/related technical degree.
    • Knowledge and experience with Radar Systems.
    • 5+ years of industrial engineering experience.
    • Excellent English communication skills – written and oral.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
    • Ability move/lift/configure equipment of 30-40 pounds with or without assistance.
