    Our Clarksburg Maryland office seeks a Senior Energy Systems Engineer. This position reports Hardware & Support Director.   We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, passionate about their work, and versatile enough to solve a wide variety of engineering problems.

    Responsibilities

    • The qualified Senior Energy Systems Engineer will be responsible for the activities related to Power Electronics components (inverters, converters, AC and DC charging devices, battery technology and systems) designs for RF Communication products.
    • Individually contribute to the development of the Energy System portion of the product, from the design phase through the field sustaining phase. This would encompass:
    • Energy Systems Circuit Design and analysis using schematic capture, analog and digital design tools; PCB layout; Prototype verification using lab instrumentation and with PC-based development tools; Supporting regulatory approval; Manufacturing introduction and Sustaining Engineering.
    • This position entails working with power electronics, battery cells, converter suppliers (etc.) to ensure corporate requirements and specifications (source packages, technical reviews with the supplier, populate sourcing tables), as well as industry best practice design features and processes, are implemented to ensure desired functionality.
    • Must be able to work in a team environment with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines such as system, software, and mechanical; and must be able to work with internal and external contract developers.
    • Work with the design team, other cross functional teams and suppliers to ensure his or her overall design and each specified sub-system meets all requirements.
    • Schedule flexibility to support critical deadlines may be required.
    • Performs engineering design and support tasks of moderate complexity without supervision and including complex designs which may require technical assistance.
    • Provides technical assistance in developing proposals and bids.
    • Provides guidance and support to junior level engineers.
    • Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures

    Qualifications

    • US Citizenship required.
    • US Security Clearance eligibility required for position
    • Must meet eligibility requirements to access classified information.
    • BSEE required/MSEE preferred.
    • A basic knowledge of logic design and good firmware development practices, as it pertains to battery chargers and Energy systems.
    • Working level knowledge of Power Electronics analysis and simulations tools.
    • Possesses strong knowledge of practical and theoretical design.
    • Processes strong interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills - oral, written and presentation.
    • The qualified Senior Energy Systems Engineer will typically have 3+ years of engineering experience in Energy Systems / Power electronics / Energy Systems (battery charging and battery technology cells).
    • Solid understanding of wireless communication theory and Analog Power Hardware design.
