    Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is currently seeking a Shipping Clerk to work in our Clarksburg, Maryland Campus. This position reports to Manager of Production Control/Shipping and Receiving.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Preparing material for shipment to include: palletizing material for shipment via LTL carrier; packing for small shipments to travel safely to its final destination; preparing paperwork for battery shipments via FedEx software (ShipEasy).

     

    • Follow TDSI workflow
    • Work in a TSA packaging and shipping environment.
    • Ensures delivery dates from our manufacturing facilities.
    • Coordinate LTL shipments using the best freight forwarder as well as all ground deliveries (FED EX, UPS, USPS) are met.
    • Coordinate with Production Control Planner, Stock room, QA, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure a consistent flow of product through the factory in support of all delivery schedules.
    • Preparing material provided to shipping for shipment on a daily basis.
    • Creating necessary labels for shipment
    • End of day duty would be to scan all shipments and email them out to a distribution list.
    • Demonstrates support for company values and vision and embrace TDSI Core Values
    • Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures.

    Qualifications

    • US Citizenship or US Residency Required
    • 2 years of equivalent experience.
    • Must meet training and certificate requirements for working in a TSA shipping/receiving facility.
    • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs /Occasionally with assistance lift up to 75 lbs.
    • Familiar with all Mil-spec packaging requirements, especially Mil-Std 129 and Mil-Std 130.
    • Detail oriented and make good use their time.
    • Forklift operator certification is a plus/Ability to obtain one required
    • Working computer skills knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel & shipping systems software.
    • Excellent English verbal, written, and comprehension skills
    • Physical ability to stand, bend etc. to perform the responsibilities of position.
    • Knowledge and comprehension of the packaging guidelines for the shipment of Lithium Ion batteries
