Overview

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is seeking a Channel Manager.  This individual will be responsible for working with current Thales partners and developing new partners across channels to sell commercial based satellite communications products.  We are seeking an individual who is a talented self-starter with imagination, creativity and vision. The successful candidate will be a strategic innovative thinker, possessing the drive to achieve quick results, and the capacity to assume increasing levels of responsibility in a highly successful global organization. This position requires a high energy individual, able to lead and manage both internal cross-functional capture teams and external value added resellers.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and manage direct and indirect sales channels for Thales commercial satellite product line in the enterprise land and maritime commercial markets 
  • Manage existing value added resellers and develop new partnerships to complete a functional global network and distribution channel 
  • Manage CRM tool to accurately reflect customer trends, expected manufacturing demand and sales
  • Meet or exceed assigned targets for order intake and strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with Channel partners to ensure customer expectations and requirements are met by our products and services 
  • Provide ongoing updates  on market trends, budget outlook and positioning of the competition
  • Work with a cross functional team to guide Thales market position to ensure we maximize brand awareness and sales
  • Provide detailed capture plans for larger pursuits that leverage the core competencies of Thales and market position
  • Travel to channel partners and customer locations frequently to foster strong, lasting, collaborative relationships built on trust
  • Manage complex problems between multiple parties to include channel conflict and contract negotiations  

Qualifications

 

  • Must have U.S. Citizenship or hold U.S. Residency Card
  • 5 years of commercial sales experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA desired
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales/Marketing preferably in the mobile satellite or fixed satellite communications markets
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications, networking, satellite, and data solutions preferred.
  • Working knowledge of exiting communications value added resellers, Reps and Dealers for target market is required.
  • Prefer someone with solid knowledge and industry contacts.
  • Understanding of commercial satellite technology such as Iridium, Inmarsat or VSAT is desired. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Qualified candidates must have excellent leadership, written and verbal communications skills
  • In depth knowledge of satellite communications market and technologies, MSS, VSAT and emerging satellite technologies.
  • Must be able to travel (domestic and international) up to 50% of time.
